Received a call of a damaged service panel. Utility feeder conductors damaged. Issued a work order to customer to replace panel and all items as required to complete project. Requested a service order from utility SDG&E, to than submit to County of San Diego Planning Department for an electrical permit. Utility required a new underground conduit riser from utility pull box to service panel location, due to unusable existing 2″ conduit (existing installed in 1975 by developer) that is not permitted to reuse and pull in new conductors. Submitted for a Eaton 200 ampere bottom feed surface mount service panel. Scope would require numerous inspections during installation of underground conduit, feeders, and service panel for final inspection.
Excavation required at a depth to install 3″ PVC SCH 80 elbows @ 36″ radius. Removed numerous rocks and boulders with demolition hammer. Existing concrete cut with 14″ saw and broken up with demolition hammer. Conduit PWEAGLE elbow installed in energized pull box by SDG&E subcontractor. Than permitted to backfill with DG soil, after than inspected by utility. Feeders used were 3/0 aluminum, than pulled in by SDG&E subcontractor and energized at meter.
Eaton 200 amp circuit breaker than closed and branch circuit breakers closed to test voltage at devices.
