Most EVSE’s use amps to indicate how fast it will charge the electric vehicle. A general rule of thumb is an output of 30 amps provides approximately 30 miles of driving per one hour of charging time. Similarly, an output of 40 amps provides approximately 40 miles of driving per one hour of charging time. Purchasing an EVSE with at least 30 amps is recommended.
Does my EVSE go inside or outside?

When looking to install an EV charging station, there are two separate charges to consider. The first charge is the price of the EVSE itself. The cheapest models run for about $500 while models with more functionality, such as wifi, can cost around $800. The second charge to consider is the labor cost of installation. Usually this can cost anywhere from a few hundred up to one thousand dollars.
